Melin Tregwynt St Davids Cross Throw - Derw

The St Davids Cross pattern is a modern version of Melin Tregwynt’s original Vintage Star design, the inspiration came from early 18th Century Shaker weaving and the fabric displays the simplicity and bold reversibility of Shaker blankets. Howard Griffiths ( second generation of the Griffiths family company) developed the design back in the 1980's.

All our throws and blankets are finished with a simple hem so you can choose to display either side.

It is woven from 100% pure new Wool so feels very much like vintage Welsh fabrics, wool has warmth weight and breathability but is still practical and easy to care for.

Pattern repeat 22 x23cm

Throw 120 x200cm

CARE

Melin Tregwynt recommed  DRY CLEANING  blankets & throws, but you can WASH BY HAND in cold or cool water (no more than 30 degrees) using a delicate detergent. Move the fabric gently in the water for a couple of minutes. RINSE with cold water and press the excess moisture out - don't wring. Follow with a quick SPIN in the washing machine. Pull into shape whilst damp to straighten, then line dry on a breezy day or dry flat. Cool iron if necessary. We do not advise using a Wool Wash programme on your washing machine for blankets and throws. Interesting facts...Wool can absorb 30% of its weight in water before feeling wet so you may need to use the bath for king-sized blankets!....Leaving in water for a length of time will damage the fibres, felting and shrinking the fabric. Thank you very much. Diolch
